The Masters Charity

My year as Worshipful Master of Lodge Semper Eadem 2023 – 2024.

Every Mason during his year in office as the Lodge Worshipful Master chooses a charity to raise money for. My Charity was one close to my heart, The Leicester Royal Infirmary Chemotherapy Suite.

My year as Master started in September 2023. It was earlier during this year, that my wife had been diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer. During her various attendances at the Chemotherapy Suite, it became apparant that more comforting facilities were required for those attending treatment.

Following the completion of her treatment, she decided that it would be a great idea to use this opportunity to raise money.

After each meeting we had a raffle to raise funds for the charity, and we started working hard on a Summer Luncheon, which would be an opportunity for all friends, family to attend, whether they were masons or not.

The event was a fantastic success, and we raised over £3750.

We hope to organise another event towards the end of this year, and we will start considering who else we can raise money for.
